Wow. This is simply incredible. How in the world did the Mets blow a 7 game lead with only 17 left to play. I’m a Yankees fan, so the Mets demise doesn’t exactly break my heart, but as a baseball fan, this is just pure fascination. I’m really curious to see how this plays out, and if Omar Manaya tries to lay the blame on Willie Randolph.
Willie really didn’t seem to have his guys motivated when they needed it most, but he can only do so much with that awful pitching and aging team that broWow. This is simply incredible. And what about Tom Glavine. It’s one thing that he completely tanked it on the most important game of the season, but to treat his dismal performance with an "oh, well, what are you gonna do?" attitude just seems to underscore the lack of passion permeating the Mets over the course of the last 50 games or so.
What will the 2008 Mets look like? It’ll be interesting to see.
